Merry Christmas everybody, and if we don't see you, a happy new year!

Tuesday - Around the world in 30 fish.

Have you ever come into our, or any other fishmonger's and looked at fish and realised you're not too sure what half of them taste like? If that's the case, or if you just want to try out some truly different fishy goodies, then come to our festive, informal soiree on Tuesday 20th December at the Eel, Pie & Mash shop on Broadway Market. We will be doing 30 different dishes using 30 different fish and shellfish. Think we're crazy? You can bank on it, but we want to take this opportunity to truly showcase all the amazing and varied species of seafood we have in this country and demonstrate how they can all be made to taste delicious. Cocktails, beer & wine will be available from the bar or you can bring your own for a very reasonable £2 corkage on wine and 50p for a beer.

The leaves have started to turn, and whilst there is still a fair bit of sunshine about, a lot of us are starting to turn to more warming dinners indoors instead of the more fresh outside BBQs of summer.

Don't worry though, it's not all pipes, slippers and coma-esque food, there's variation and a couple of surprises up our resident chef Adam Newman's (E8fishmonger on twitter) sleeve.

Bring your friends & family and enjoy the fishy fun.

Guest chef - Bánh mì 11 - 7.30pm @ Eel & Pie shop [18th Aug 2011 ] bring a bottle !!!

In between our own fabulous master chef Adam Newman the Fin and Flounder like to bring in a guest chef mid-month to keep us on our toes. We are very lucky to have a real institution of Broadway market Bánh mì 11, they will be cooking up some great Vietnamese cuisine on 18th Aug 2011 at our resident eel and pie spot.

These girls make the most amazing Franco-Vietnamese sandwich, they have pioneered the hot made-to-order Vietnamese baguettes.  They have an amazing following and have featured many times in Time Out, considered by many to be amongst the best street food sellers in London.

We are really looking forward to their amazing menu using the richness of Vietnamese culinary traditions. In their words “food…. should be respected and cherished like Life itself.” Im sure you will agree some stirn words so you know this will be good.
